In this post I will explore what I have called "The Morrigan" prompt. This prompt was inspired loosely by cursory investigation of Celtic Mythology and a desire to create something a bit unique with a folk art aesthetic. The prompt incorporates the idea that The Morrigan is actually three sister goddesses (known as "The Morrigna"), an interpretation with some basis but by no means established. Although the basic prompt can of course be expanded to almost any subject, in my explorations here I have stayed with The Morrigan as the main theme.
Basic Prompt Elements
Artist Modifiers - there are no artist modifiers in this prompt.
Style Modifiers - surreal, outsider art style, folk art influences, vibrant, intricate patterns, mixed media textures, otherworldly, mythical atmosphere, magical essence.
Subject Modifiers - the three Morrígan sisters with elongated faces, each as a branch woven into a single, mystical tree adorned with intricate Celtic knots. They are surrounded by natural elements and Celtic symbols
Starting Prompt
The prompt used for the image above was:
A surreal depiction of the three Morrígna sisters with elongated faces, each as a branch woven into a single, mystical tree adorned with intricate Celtic knots. They are surrounded by natural elements and Celtic symbols, all rendered in an outsider art style with folk art influences. The scene is filled with vibrant, intricate patterns and mixed media textures, creating an otherworldly and mythical atmosphere that celebrates the Morrígna as part of the living tree. The composition exudes a surreal, magical essence with richly detailed foliage and organic shapes.
Output prompt
Many AI models, such as Dall-e3, take the prompts your enter and revise them. If Flux Pro v1.1 does this, it does not publish the modified prompt.
Notes and Tips for Prompting
If you are creating with Flux Schnell on NightCafe, use the evolution tool freely. I especially enjoyed mixing models with the evolution tool (RealVisXL v4 Lightning produces some great results).
Prompt Variation - Morrigan Sisters with Flux Schnell
The prompt for this image was exactly the same as for the image above, but the seed is different and the model used was Flux Schnell instead of Flux Pro v1.1. Using different seeds and different models can be a great way to explore variations on a theme.
Prompt Variation - Druid Resting on the Morrigan Tree
Another variation of the prompt involves adding the subject modifiers with "an ancient Druid resting against a tree". As I kept the prompt mostly the same otherwise, the prompt is a bit awkward and I did not get results I liked even using evolutions. However, using the prompt with Dall-e3 did produce some good results. The full input prompt for the image above was:
A surreal depiction of an ancient Druid resting against a tree, the three Morrígna sisters with elongated faces, each as a branch woven into a single, mystical tree adorned with intricate Celtic knots. Widescreen.
Prompt Variation - The Musical Morrigan Sisters
A final variation involves replacing the subject modifiers with "the three Morrígan sisters with elongated faces, each playing an instrument engraved with intricate Celtic knots." The full output prompt for the image above was:
A surreal depiction of the three Morrígna sisters with elongated faces, each playing an instrument engraved with intricate Celtic knots. They are surrounded by natural elements and Celtic symbols, all rendered in an outsider art style with folk art influences. The scene is filled with vibrant, intricate patterns and mixed media textures, creating an otherworldly and mythical atmosphere that celebrates the Morrígna as part of living nature. The composition exudes a surreal, magical essence with richly detailed foliage and organic shapes.
Finally, here is an image using the above prompt (with Morrigna replaced by Morrigan).
More Variations
I plan to continue to experiment and explore with this basic prompt, and plan to return later with more ideas!
