Milestones

Earlier this month, we hit two milestones. The 200th Artist Spotlight was published on December 6th, and just a few days later, with Artist Spotlight 206, I finally caught up to all of the images in the Artist Gallery. Now every new Artist Spotlight will correspond with a new artist in the Artist Gallery!

Changes

If you haven't checked out the website in awhile, you will notice a number of changes since your last visit. Here is a brief summary of the main changes:

  • Artist Spotlights (Blog section): in addition to a lot more of them, I have changed the format to include multiple AI-generated images inspired by the artist, an AI-generated summary of the artist's life, style, notable works, and legacy, and commentary on how the AI "interprets" the artist. For newer spotlights I have also included a "critique" of the images by ChatGPT4o acting as an art critic (I am systematically adding this to older spotlights as well).

  • The Cthulhu Club: Cthulhu as artificial intelligence "imagines" different past artists might have painted the cosmic entity.

  • Art Styles: AI-generated images and AI-generated description of different styles, genres, and mediums of art (10 so far, more to come!).

  • Galleries: We now have two galleries featuring works inspired by the "Textured Clay" prompt and works inspired by the "Sacred Geometry" prompt.

  • Prompts (Blog): Blog posts describing different prompts in depth - go to the Blog section and select "prompt". As of this writing there are 17 posts describing 16 different prompts and variations (more to come!).
