The Book is Here!

A quick post to celebrate the publication of a book I contributed to: Drawn to AI: Making Art with the Machine. This book is a collection of essays and images that captures a wide range of perspectives and experiences on using generative artificial intelligence to create art. My own contribution is rather small - a chapter documenting my experiences exploring a process to study and emulate non-contemporary artists using artificial intelligence, and a few ideas for another chapter titled Art, Agency, and the Machine. The book is much bigger than me, but that augments, rather than diminishes, my joy in its publication.
I am grateful to the editors, Helen Hintjens and CitizenSlothrop, for asking me to be a part of this journey. The process required to write about what I was doing gave me time to reflect upon what I was doing, and why, and unquestionably widened my perspective. It was the spark for a new approach that better met my goals (as I have documented in other posts).
I will have more to say later, but for now, join me in a salute to the editors, Helen and CitizenSloth, to my fellow contributors, and to everyone who helped transform this dream into a reality!
